Hidden in the hills tour information

Discover fine art and meet diverse talented artists during Arizona’s largest and longest-running artist studio tour: Hidden in the Hills! Coordinated by the nonprofit Sonoran Arts League, this year’s free, self-guided tour features 174 artists at 47 studios throughout Cave Creek, Carefree and North Scottsdale.

Now in its 26th year, Hidden in the Hills attracts thousands of patrons who appreciate fine art and seek a variety of mediums, styles and price ranges. With the 6-day event taking place the weekends before and after Thanksgiving, the Artist Studio Tour also attracts holiday shoppers who want to find an original, and unique gift.

Planning your tour is easy!

Each artist’s studio is open from 10 am to 5 pm during both weekends of the tour, giving you plenty of time to visit multiple studios.

Some guests like to visit studios based on the medium they are seeking, such as a painting or sculpture. Others may choose studios based on a certain style, such as contemporary or western. It’s also fun to get a group of friends together and meander through the tour, stopping randomly at studios along the way.

• Visit www.HiddenInTheHills.org where you can download a map and a list of artists to help you navigate your tour.

• Visit the Sonoran Arts League’s Center for the Arts at Studio

#1, where you can pick up artist directories, maps and inquire about other tour details prior to and during the tour. The address is 7100 E. Cave Creek Road, Suite 144, at Stagecoach Village in Cave Creek.

• Look for the yellow Hidden in the Hills signs on the side of the main roads, such as Scottsdale Road, Cave Creek Road, Carefree Highway and other main arteries. These signs will direct you into the neighborhoods where you will find more signage that will help you discover each artist’s studio.

Remember, too, that there are many great restaurants in the area that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Check dining guide on page 139 of the Artist Directory.

Most importantly, enjoy the experience of meeting renowned and emerging artists, and treat yourself to a beautiful piece of art if it speaks to you!

If you like contemporary, I will be joining Bela Fidel at Studio 28, at 56th Street and the Carefree highway, along with Linda Singer and Dawn Kocsis.

Getting excited to set up and meet many new people and get reacquainted with old friends. Cheers, Stacy
